I accompanied my father to the doctor today for his consultation on his eye problem. He can no longer clearly see and the opthalmologist’s diagnosis is hypermatured cataract. There is no other remedy but to perform an operation. Before it would be done, a medical clearance is needed from his doctor that monitors him (ecg, hypertension and other laboratory tests). This would be a tough medical planning and procedure in the coming days. Me and my sis had nothing to do but to submit to the doctor’s recommendations immediately.

The city now is experiencing rotating brownouts in different areas and it is very much affecting the lives of the people– household, families, business, offices, schools and all. The power outage usually takes a minimum of two hours and it does not follow its routine. So the schedule is either night or at daytime. The energy department reported that this is because of the shortage of the generation of energy due to dry spell and the usage of consumers are getting high. So there is a need now to schedule brownouts. I hope this current power problem will not stay for long or else lives will be paralyzed.

My subject is getting tougher these days. I just finished my weeken review in school. This is to cover up the chapters in preparation for the upcoming final examination in the next two weeks. My professor conducted a two hour class review to us discussing mainly on inventories. I hope I can tackle all of these while balancing work and school at the same time.

It’s Love month once again. Special time for those lovers in love. This day was used to be memorable for me. Eight years ago I knew a special person and this was the day that I said yes to him. It was a long distance love nurtured by technologies of emails and chats. A relationship promised to be realized with all my patience, sincerity, trust, hope that one day we would see each other and fulfill the reality of our dreams. I was very frustrated that it did not came true as planned. He just faded away with out any explanation or information. A relationship that melted away. It was a failed relationship and I think I was not the reason on it. I post about it today because until now the memory just keeps on reminding me. I personally haven’t forgot him. I don’t know why.I am hoping that in time this past would eventually die on its own. Anyway, there is always a reason to be happy today, Happy Valentines day!

It is already summer time. Very early as scheduled and seems the weather is very much affected by the climate change. There is no rain for over a month now. The streets are covered with thick dusts and you can feel the scorching heat of the sun when staying outdoors. The El Nino phenomenon is here as the weather bureau reported. It would extend up until May or June . I hope this dry spell will not stay long or else the food production will be greatly affected.

Stir Fried Chicken &Vegetables in Char Siu Sauce
My weekend cooking adventure using char siu sauce. For this menu I stir fried the chicken pieces (breast part) in olive oil until light brown then added vegetables like sayote, carrots, celery stalks and char siu sauce. Stir well for 3 minutes until heated through. Garnished with the remaining chopped celery leaves. The honey based flavor of the sauce is perfect for the variety of vegetables. Delectable taste.

I had nothing to do one evening at home. I brought my camera with me and went at the backyard to see what I can have for a shot at night. This street lamp post caught my attention. It is just a few houses away and the light from the mercury bulb was so bright that it almost covered the entire street. It is one important thing to remember nowadays that we must conserve energy. Just use electrical lights only when needed. Put off when not in use.
