Traffic week

I had a hard time commuting from home to the downtown district every morning that started last Monday. Few public utility vehicles were allowed to served for public transport because of the tragic accident that happened last week wherein a jeepney on fast speed accidentally bumped with an approaching truck of softdrinks. There were lots of casualties and to date the number of lives gotten is nine. It was a sad event especially to families of the victims due to the negligence of an abusive and arrogant driver. I have to leave home earlier to catch up time this week because of the traffic.

I can always see the happiness in the eyes of my niece Precious Joy every time she plays in the wooden swing sets that her mom and dad brought her. The sets were their birthday gift to their one and only daughter.  PJ as we often call her is always the apple of the eye in the family. She receives all the love and affection being the cute, sweet and hug gable baby at five years old. Her dad placed the swing set on the lawn area where the space is wide for the playground of Precious as well as other kids who would like to play with her. I can say that the material of the swing set is of good quality and safe for kids to play at home.

Angel week

Its a great week to celebrate life with the angels who would bless us in abundance in all that we are doing and will be planning in life. May the angels of heaven  shower with love, peace and prosperity and make this week as special as always.

weight loss success stories

It is hard to loss weight especially if you gained a lot of it during the period of pregnancy. This was what happened with my friend Julie. She gave birth to a cute baby girl a year ago and her curvy body was totally deformed. I know she was very excited for her first bundle of joy but later her weight personally affected her self confidence. She shared to me the other day her weight loss success stories and I was so happy that she slowly recovered from her weight problem. It was very hard for her but she was able to achieved it with persistence and conviction.  She even told me that Billy her husband was also proud and happy for her achievements.  I hope Julie will continue on what she started and for sure it would be for her own good.

Autumnal equinox

I read on the news that the country at this time is experiencing autumnal equinox wherein nights will be longer. This is according to the atmospheric geophysical and astronomical services administration. Longer nights are caused as the sun     approaches the celestial equator. An equinox usually signals a change in the seasons. I also personally noticed this every morning. The sun is already up but the time is still early. Sometimes I already have to get up from bed thinking that I might be late for my daily activities.

After months of having some renovations at her home, my cousin is now very happy to see the fruits of her sacrifices. About fifty percent of the house was remodeled including the dining room, living room and the bedroom. She is planning to buy first a rustic furniture for the bedroom for comfort and satisfaction. After all the stress brought about by house restructuring she now deserves a great comfort bed. Quality comfort is very important and I would certainly agree that my cousin made a perfect choice. If ever I have a chance I would also buy the beddings with the same kind.

Pata day

This week I was able to cooked this delicious crispy pata (pork hind). I bought a pre-cooked one from a specialty meat shop then deep fried to very hot oil untel crispy golden brown. Served with hot dippings of garlic, chili, soy sauce and vinegar. It is healthier to add some cucumber side dish to pork menus. My siblings just enjoyed eating this together with steamed rice. Perfect for any occasions, parties or gatherings. I would try to make my own boiled pata one day soon.

Family get together

It was a busy weekend for me as my relatives stayed overnight at home before going to Manila last Sunday. Two seniors (aunt & uncle) and my cousin were with us before their scheduled flight and of course I was the busy host for cooking, arranging, housekeeping and many more. It was a happy get together though because we were able to talk, chat and keep an update with our lives as family. I sent them off at the airport yesterday morning. They have no schedule of coming back yet but for sure they will be staying with their children for longer time.

Linguine pasta

I like to adventure in different kinds of pastas in my cooking passion. One of my pasta ingredient during my last cooking was this linguine  made of quality wheat. It is an imported product from Italy so I’m sure the product is of good kind. It was true because when I cooked it, the noodles were firmed and did not break from its strand. It is always good to cook with quality especially when choosing pasta.

My cousin Neng is expecting her second baby this October. The due will be on the second week next month. Of course everybody in the family is happy and excited for the coming new member. Me as Neng’s  cousin prepared some personalized cards for close relatives and friends. It is about baby birth announcements to all and that a celebration will be scheduled at the end of this month.  My cousin was so happy when I informed her about my plans. This is my personal gratitude  to her for being so kind and generous to me and to our family. Some cards are already ready for distribution and mail. I am looking forward for a blessed and happy celebration soon.
