Many things happened in my life and I am always grateful for everything. I will celebrate and welcome the new year at home tonight with my siblings with some simple yet special preparations. May the separation of 2010 and the coming of 2011 later will be peaceful and happy here in Davao City, in the Philippines and the whole world.

My sister celebrated her birthday last December 24. She is so blessed especially during her birthday because it is Christmas eve and the family always enjoined with her for the celebrations. I bought this birthday cake for her, a black forest specialty from Red Ribbon. Moist chocolate cake with some cherries and creamy icing sided with chocolate slices. Oh so yummy and licking good to taste as dessert for this another year of life and also for the holidays.

It’s been a happy holidays for me and my family. We enjoyed the celebration as we gathered together last Christmas. Many unforgettable events happened like noche buena, gift giving, chats & updates, beach adventures and many more. I gave a personal stuff for my cousin who I haven’t seen for years already. We really missed each other and as a token I gave her favorite plus size lingerie. She was so glad and thankful to received it from me. Our reunion was very memorable and everybody wanted to have it again hopefully next year.

One of my favorite snacks are cookies. When paired with a cup of my favorite ferncoffee, it just completes my day. The pair is so perfect to perk up life. Cookies are most commonly baked until crisp or just long enough that they remain soft, but some kinds of cookies are not baked at all. Cookies are made in a wide variety of styles, using an array of ingredients including sugars, spices, chocolate, butter, peanut butter, nuts or dried fruits. The softness of the cookie may depend on how long it is baked. The individually wrapped soft cookies with some chocolate toppings in it are so heavenly that it made my day happy and complete. This is my simple personal indulgence

I took this shot of some yellow bell flowers one rainy afternoon while spending sometime at home. It was about 5:00pm but already dark because of heavy rainfall accompanied with thunders and lightnings. When the rain slowly poured down the plants in front of the main door, these beautiful yellow bell flowers seemed to be happy with the rain dews on their petals. It showed on the bright yellow colors that these flowers of nature gave thanks for the rain that helped them live and bear more in the next coming days.

I always like sending gifts like cards to my family and friends during special occasions. With the coming holidays I already made some Christmas cards a month ahead so that I can have more time to personally deliver it to all the recipients. At this early time, I am planning to make some personalized easter gifts for those people who are close to my heart. I consider them as special part of who I am now because they have contributed a lot and they are with me through thick and thin of life. This is my personal way of showing my being grateful for their good love and support.

I feel quite relieve today as the my stresses lessened at the end of the weekdays. The class had a break for the holiday season and it will resume on the third of January next month. I am unloaded with the daily burdens of balancing days tasks for the past two months. I would like to give myself a deserving break and feel the Christmas season with my family, relatives, friends and love ones.

My brother will be having some outdoor adventures with his friends after the holiday season. This will be their groups’ first expedition at the start of the year 2011. He is already busy these days especially on the preparation of his outdoor gears. One of the important thing that he bought last week was a pair of overshoes. It is a quality, durable and lightweight shoes that he can use right over his daily footwear. This kind of shoes is very important on outdoor adventures that would also serve as a protection from rain, snow, hiking, walking and other outdoor escapades.

The Filipino tradition of dawn mass also known as “Simbang Gabi” began early this morning. Many Catholics attended this tradition only in the Philipines with happiness and festivities that would be a nine day countdown until Christmas. With positive hopes in spite of what the country is experiencing, the Filipinos are still wishing for the best in their living and for the country.
