My new home improvement projects are on its way now. Its almost a month already since I started making some major repairs at home. For the past eleven years, the foundation is starting to depreciate so there is a need now to renovate  those dilapidated parts of the house. The first area that need some major fixings is the bathroom. I want it to be furnished with glass tile so that it would be elegant and at the same time durable in quality. I Like the color cream and light green so that it would naturally blend together. I am already excited to make a post here after my bathroom improvements will be finished.

Stressful week

Life is getting busy now especially that Christmas is coming up. I just had a very stressful week from work, home and class. Though I am thankful that my class update is very good as far as the past two exams are concerned. Office work was tiring physically because of under manned section and there were lots of transactions that needed to attend to. Aside from all of these my brother got sick of painful stomach so I had to assist  his needs particularly his medicines and diet.  I want my self not too much into stress especially this season. Hopefully all things will go on smoothly after my school break next week.

I am very thankful this time that I was able to avail of a cheap insurance some years ago.  It was a life insurance actually with some added lifetime benefits. Though that was purchased with minimal cash outlay, but still it was my hard earned investment and I had a hard time during that time in paying my annual dues for five years. My two brothers and my sister had the privileged to avail also of  such insurance and in time we were able to secured ourselves with peace in mind for any circumstances in life. If ever I have extra income again, I would definitely choose to buy another insurance as my added personal investment.

This is called the Philippine stew made from peanut sauce with variety of vegetables like eggplant, string beans,banana heart and pechay.  Varieties of meat can be used here like pork hind, beef oxtail or beef tripe. This is often served with shrimp paste. I cooked this menu couple of weeks ago and everybody just loved eating it.

One of the controversial topic especially on the senate and congress and being reported on the news is the RH Bill ( Reproductive Health Bill).The bill is controversial, as it is being opposed by concerned citizens, especially the pro-life, pro-family and pro-God groups, regardless of creed or religion. Pro-life groups, and many professionals in the medical and nursing fields, believe that physicians and policy makers should understand and respect the beliefs of patients who consider human life to be present and valuable from the moment of fertilization. Patients should be made fully aware of this information so that they can consent to or refuse the use of artificial contraceptives. I think this would take sometime to become a law as many are opposing on it. The population on the Philippines is already huge that the government is having a hard time in sustaining it. This requires some responsible actions not only to the lawmakers but to all Filipinos.

For me, hugging is a sweet gesture between friends, loved ones and families. Sometimes a simple hug can help someone who is in misery about life.

The advancement of medical technology brought a great contribution most especially to the lives of the people in the world. Give thanks to those brilliant inventors and scientists who contributed their craft that benefited a lot of us. Because of electrosurgery my father who undergone an eye operation early of this year recovered very well. The doctor used some high tech medical equipments for his eyes. It was a non-invasive procedure and the doctor did not find it hard to perform the operation with the aid of such ophthalmic instruments.  Hospitals should be  equip with the latest medical instruments so that patients’ recovery would be  easier this time.

Season of Advent

It is already Advent season. Advent  means “coming” or “arrival.” The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ in his First Advent, and the anticipation of the return of Christ the King in his Second Advent. Thus, Advent is far more than simply marking a 2,000 year old event in history. It is celebrating a truth about God, the revelation of God in Christ whereby all of creation might be reconciled to God. That is a process in which we now participate, and the consummation of which we anticipate. Scripture reading for Advent will reflect this emphasis on the Second Advent, including themes of accountability for faithfulness at His coming, judgment on sin, and the hope of eternal life. In this double focus on past and future, Advent also symbolizes the spiritual journey of individuals and a congregation, as they affirm that Christ has come, that He is present in the world today, and that He will come again in power. That acknowledgment provides a basis for Kingdom ethics, for holy living arising from a profound sense that we live “between the times” and are called to be faithful stewards of what is entrusted to us as God’s people. So, as the church celebrates God’s inbreaking into history in the Incarnation, and anticipates a future consummation to that history for which “all creation is groaning awaiting its redemption,” it also confesses its own responsibility as a people commissioned to “love the Lord your God with all your heart” and to “love your neighbor as yourself.” May the real essence  of the coming holiday be in every person as we will celebrate Christmas.
