Wednesday updates

Today is the last day of work for this week. The coming days will be non working holiday already as the country observes the season of holy week. I am still busy but not like yesterday. There are still transactions on queue and later diminishes on the late afternoon. I have time to send some text messages to my brother for some requests. Also I have time to call my relative regarding her request too.  I ask permission to be out thirty minutes before five o’clock as there are no longer transactions. I go to Mymys clinic and keep some updates with her. She treat me with a pasta dessert cooked by her sister who celebrates her birthday today. I am hungry and the salad is a good treat.  We have lots of chats and together we go to the nearby mall for some small grocery items. I make an assignment earlier and having fun reading some lighter news here on the internet.

My new food business is doing great after it opened eight months ago. I can say that this is a dream come true because I was able to build my own restaurant out of personal sweat and hard work. I never imagined that I can have this one as it was just a simple passion that eventually realized. So far so good though there are some aspects that need for some personal focus particularly the marketing/sales, inventory and the cash management. I was planning to have  a simplified and systematic system so that it would be easy to account the daily sales and to identify the daily profit versus the expenses. I bought a complete financing system just recently and I am still on the process of familiarization with the program. Also included in the package is a barcode scanner which is a very useful device in reading printed bar codes of the items for sale in the wine section, take out menus, food specialties and more. The newly installed system will be very useful especially in the business operation.

Summer bra top

I was busy last night scanning my personal essentials on the cabinet. On the upper right hanger portion I found this pink bra top. This is one great piece for summer. It is made of polyester, spandex & Lycra materials that is perfect for some swimming activities this hot season. I tried fitting it and it is still in a perfect fit and shape. The cups are great that it snug fit on the breast area endowing some nice curves. I look so sexy with this bra top.  I might be spending some out of town summer getaways and this top is very much ready for the activities. I still need a boyleg partner for this and be called  a tankini  get up.  I cant wait for my summer outings hopefully soon.

Based on my own personal experiences I can truly say that the best investment is to buy gold bars. The value of this precious yellow metal is very high at this time. I am very thankful for my cousin who suggested it to me few years ago and I never regret on it. Though the required capital amount was quite big, but the return on this kind of  investment years later is very promising. I can say that this investment is really worth it. I was able to paid my long term loans, housing amortizations, life and pension insurances and even helped my siblings, relatives and extended families in their financial concerns. Now I am setting aside an additional amount again to invest on gold for the future.

Weekend activities

The sun was hiding yesterday so I kept off my hands on the laundry chores that was supposed to be done that day. I planned to be early for the wet market to buy our food consumption for the week but the cold temperature prevented me to stayed sleeping in bed until seven thirty in the morning. I was able to do the marketing though. Tiredness occupied my thoughts for lunch so I just reheat the food left overs. In the evening I cooked one of the favorite – Beef KareKare (stewed beef meat and skin in peanut sauce and vegetables). This menu compensated my hunger as well as my brother who did an overtime work until Sunday evening. I was also early to did the ironing of my clothes just enough for the three working days left for this holy week.

Lenten reflection

+God is the absolute Almighty and through
His infinite goodness and mercy
He called us to walk in the light of Christ.
This Lenten season, a complete self
submission and strive to believe in
Him with all our hearts, souls and mind.
With such  renewed commitment to Jesus
I endeavor to continue what is always important
according to God’s purpose and glory.
May this lent season be a special time for
spiritual meditation, knowing and
valuing our existence and receiving
God’s grace and mercy as
we continue to live our existence. +

Nipper sharpening

My first transaction here in the downtown district this Saturday is going to a shop that has nipper sharpening services.  It is not far though but instead of making a double ride, I walk a few blocks away from the downtown center to minimize fare expenses. It is raining when I arrive at the shop. I immediately give the nipper to the person in charge. He uses an electrical device that is fast in sharpening cutting instruments. In just five minutes, my transaction is finish.  I pay only twenty five pesos and the sharpness of my nipper will lasts depending on my usage.  I usually sharpen every two months anyway. Now my nipper is very good to use when I schedule my toenail cleaning hopefully this Sunday.

Belated birthday treat

I meet my friend Lydia in the office late afternoon today and we join together out of the office after five o’clock then proceed to a nearby buffet restaurant. We wait for Mymy who arrive few minutes later. This is her belated birthday treat for us as promised. Her birthday was last March 30. We enjoy savoring every food servings like sweetened chicken, stir fried noodles, white rice, egg foolong,  clams in coconut cream, deep fried dumplings, crispy pata hind, steamed fish, fried chicken, stewed pork, desserts and fresh fruits. Being early has always an advantage because we taste the freshly cook food servings on first hand. I feel bloated already as bottomless  ice tea is serve. The buffet is yummy and we thank Lydia for her generosity in the treat. Hope to have another get together again soon.

Slices of banana cake

One of my favorite fruit is banana and this is very popular here in the tropics. The  country is always blessed with the all year round abundance of this fruit. There are many ways to cook food with banana as the main ingredient. I bought these slices of my favorite banana cake in a specialty stall inside the mall.  It is a type of bread with mashed bananas. Often moist and sweet cake with added raisins. The loaf like that I bought had a price of forty pesos. When I got home I sliced it in ten so that everybody can eat and share some portions equally. I think I sliced about ten pieces and put them in a tight sealed canister then placed in the refrigerator to stay fresh and have a longer shelf life. I love eating it together with a cup of my favorite fern coffee especially during mornings.  There are many bakeries who make banana cakes and they vary in taste depending on the ingredients added. I hope to have time again this weekend in the mall so that I can buy another slices of my favorite banana cake.

Ordeal with accounting

It was a great relief indeed when my class in financial accounting ended third week last month. That was a very trying experience for me because I had to balance my time in my work at day then class at night. The five months of sleepless nights was worth it. Personally it was very hard for me because my work is always busy everyday. There are lots of computer uploading to do in the office and  so many transactions that need to be done daily  on scheduled dates/deadlines. After my office time off at 5:00pm I had to kept myself ready for the 7:30pm class. My eyes were already tired when I read my book in the library. One time I just had to closed my eyes because it felt watery and painful already. I had to read the chapters because there were assignments, recitations and quizzes.  The examinations were in series of eight and it was every other two weeks. Since I was a self supporting working student, I can hardly paid my tuition on time because my salary was not enough and I had to prioritized paying the electric, water bills and monthly amortization. Aside from that I also had to be responsible for the daily consumption/viand for home. It was not easy studying accounting. You need to have all the time by focusing yourself to study alone. The subject is very meticulous. Thorough understanding is very much needed.  I cannot fully understood the complicated problems in one reading alone. I needed to read it twice or thrice to be able to fully understood and to solved the exercise and problems. After class I had to walked about three blocks away from the school going to the jeepney stop where I would wait for a ride going home. One time I felt that I had no more sense of balance and I almost stumbled in an uneven pathway while I walked. When I arrived home, I took dinner immediately then study again until wee hours of the morning.  My six units subject in accounting was achieved out of sweat, stress ,tears and many severe difficulties. This was a good  personal learning experience and also an achievement as what accounting was all about.
