I had a fast and easy access using the internet when online networking sites were introduced years ago. I was able to connect and keep in touch with my relatives, friends and classmates whom I haven’t heard for quite a long time. The modern way of online communication bridges some distances and I am always thankful for its good benefits especially to a user like me. I often follow on sites that I think are very relevant and offer good insights and ideas. With that I click on follow, like and even include myself on the Facebook page to make part of those sites that interest me. I never stop doing my personal search on whats in and whats new in the internet to keep myself an update especially on the latest trends.

This was Baby Mielle’s dress during her christening ceremony as sent to me through email by my niece (her mommy) Mia. I was glad though that the baby already belonged to the Christian world. Her dress was lacey white with some ribbons and little cute booties. White is the common color for young kids and babies to be baptized. This dress was specially prepared by Mielles’ mother for her baptism . There were many infant’s gifts given but this dress was worn for special purpose where Mielle received the rite for admission as baptism has been called a sacrament and an ordinance of Jesus Christ. I have not seen Mielle after her baptism and hopefully she will turn a year in the next couple of months.

The rainy days last week was quite a mess for me. During the middle of the week I decided to cook this Sotanghon Soup for dinner. This is one comfort food that truly relieved my stress from hard days work. I used chicken breast that was thinly stripped and peeled shrimps then sauted it in onions and garlic. Vegetables that I added were carrot sticks, shredded cabbage, chopped leeks and sliced mushrooms. Seasoned according to taste preferences. Cooked for few minutes the the last one to be added was the noodles ( mung bean). Stir well the served hot. The soup here brings that delicious feeling of comfort during the cold rainy day at home. Tastes just perfectly good.

I was thankful for my memory this weekend because I was able to remind myself of my monthly renewal on the jewelries that I pawned in the pawnshop. Or else I would be penalized for late renewal fees and other surcharges. It was already late in the afternoon last Saturday when I remembered it. The pawnshop was half closed because they were about to closed at six o’clock in the evening. I arrived at five forty five in the afternoon and the last client to attend by the receptionist. Aside from the renewal transaction I also did pawned my other jewelry because I had so many payables and dues this month. I had no resort but to pawned it so that I can pay my this week my demand able dues. It was hard actually if you are joggling some very limited funds. Being a head of the family is an extra challenge for me. I do not know until when will I be like this. I felt so tired at one point in life and quite frustrated of the life’s circumstances. It was mentally, emotionally and physically stressful. I am just taking one at a time for now and looking forward that I can be debt free the soonest possible time with God’s continued provisions.

We had a deal the other with my sister regarding the gift certificate or coupon that was given to us by our cousin last month. She bargained to me her share because she has plans of buying a different item in another mall. So I decided to buy out her share of 500 worth of gift certificate. I bring it with me when I visit the nearest mall and try to shop for some possible items that I would use and have it as a remembrance instead. I will now be liable to pay her cash in the amount of five hundred pesos as a return in the coupon that she bargained to me. Anyway I hope I can use the gift coupon and find one item this week.

I had this artificial fiber sponge bought in the supermarket for home last weekend. I like this cleaning aid especially in plates, spoons, fork, platters, glasses, mugs, wine glasses and even to kitchen utensils like frying pan, casserole, deep fryer or even pressure cooker and many more kitchen items that needs thorough cleaning. This kind of sponge is double sided with scouring pad and polyurethane sponge. The yellow side can be used in delicate pieces of utensils while the green side is for heavy duty cleaning. This is cheap and I change and buy new one when it is worn out and can no longer hold soap suds and water. Maybe a month of service will do for this fiber sponge. Cleaning in the kitchen at home is always fun if you have quality cleaning aids on hand.

It was holiday yesterday and I had all my time at home in the morning. I arranged my personal stuff inside the cabinet. Filed the important bills, recorded some important notes, arranged some washed clothing s in their proper places, wiped the room floor and many more. While scanning on my personal files to lessen the congestion, I found these two dollar bills ( one dollar each) that was inside a white envelop. If I can remember, these was given by my cousin when he was working abroad. I felt happy to saw these bills that were untouched in my personal envelop for quite some time. I immediately took it out and separately placed inside my personal wallet. If ever i can drop by at the money changer, I can have these bills be exchange into pesos.

Last Saturday I walked around the hardware shop of the nearby mall to look for a faucet for home. The kitchen sink faucet is already worn out. I had the difficulty in opening it because the grip was no longer functioning and cannot hold for the water to come out. I decided to replaced it immediately because it was a hassle for me during cooking. I looked into the plumbing area and found a faucet (sink type kind) that would fit for the sink at the kitchen. It is colored silver with easy opening procedure. The spout is screen covered that can strain water from some possible dirt from the pipe. It is affordable with the sink type at home. There was one brand that I liked first but I changed mind because it was quite big for the aluminum sink that I have. I bought this one before going home and had my brother installed in the sink the next day. Now I enjoy using my kitchen sink without the hassle of a defective faucet.

Doing some groceries is always fun for me. I learn to explore and look some new displays of vegetables, meat and other food items that I want to buy. These tomatoes inside a net bag interested me to buy and it is fun to see some unripe and ripe tomatoes inside it. It is very cheap though because it is harvest season and there are many tomatoes for sale on display rack. There are many different kinds of sizes and varieties available. I choose these smaller ones so that I can adjust the size to use on my cooking. Before I put the tomatoes on the refrigerator, I first put them in water with baking soda or a concentrated organic solution to keep it safe to eat from the harmful pesticides. Good for stews, salads, grills and many more cooking procedures and styles.

The weather bureau again informed the public about another storm that is coming to hit the country this long weekend. Some parts of the country will experience tropical depression and some scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Just this day, the sun shines bright early morning but in the later part the clouds turn dark and some rain showers in the early part of the afternoon. This evening when I got out of the mall it is showering though a few drippings in the road but it is non stop. June is already the start of rainy and stormy weather and it is always important to be prepared when going out. I always see to it that I have my umbrella with me to get protected from the rain. I hope it will not affect so much here in the city this weekend so that I can still do my weekend chores at home.
