suppressing appetite

I have a friend who is undergoing a personal diet for months now. She is on the heavy side as her weight grows for years because of depression, stress, health issues and many factors that contributed to the enlargement of her physical being. It was so sad for her especially that being overweight is so devastating physically as well as emotionally. I met with my friend last week and to my surprised, she looked slimmer as compared to the previous time that we saw each other.  She told me that she is in a diet for a month already and tried using the suppressing appetite way of slimming down. I really saw the changes on her as she  religiously do her daily diet.  I am hopeful that she will achieved her ideal weight the soonest time. It requires a lot of sacrifices but eventually earn some better results most especially to her weight loss.

Cherry lip balm

My personal lip balm as already consumed and it forced my to bought a new one last weekend as I don’t have a lip balm to use already. When I visited the mall last weekend, I went to the healthy options shop and it made me interested to shop for their organic personal essentials like  lotions, moisturizers, soaps, lotions, food supplements, multi -vitamins and many more.  I got this cherry lip balm – a plant powered lip care with SPF 18 that is organic to use for those dry and cracked lips.  This lip balm is always my necessity wherever I go as a protection on my lips that easily gets  dry especially when I am in an air conditioned area.  When I tried it was very soothing and has good effects on the lips. Good also as a base before applying lipstick. If this will get consumed, I have to buy again the lemon and vanilla flavors.

Just a few months from now, exactly three months to go will be Halloween time again. This is one of the most celebrated event of the year and at this early on, I am including my plans for the party that I will soon be organizing together with my family and friends. I have already collected some halloween props, scary & magical costumes, halloween decorations and many more items for the said occasion.  I also prepared the theme for this year’s celebration and maybe fantasy and fairy tales theme would be great this time. It is very important to do some concepts and planning earlier so that you can think of many creative ideas about the Halloween celebration.  For sure, our party  this year will be different and enjoyable as many invited guests, family and friends will participate  for the event.

My cousin is celebrating her golden birthday today. I am wishing her all the blessings on this half years of her life. She have lived life with so many roles – daughter, mother, wife, cousin, a sister, sister in law, daughter in law and many more. I am wishing her now to take a glimpse for all her endeavors and be more rewarded for all her roles. Happy birthday Nang Nette! God bless :)

Non working Friday

The local city government declared today August 19 as local non working holiday for the entire city in celebration with the Kadayawan festival. This is a yearly observance here in the city and it was being celebrated as non working day to have time for the people to participate of the different kinds of festivities. I personally is very happy because I can have all my time at home for the entire day — cleaning , laundry, computer games, internet surfing, cooking, planting  and many more chores. My day is very productive as I have accomplish many things. Perhaps tomorrow will be my personal time to unwind in the downtown district and visit the mall for what will be on sale.  Next will be  another  long weekend again. Yehey!

Local shopping of batik

My cousin visited us last week from her busy work about theological ministries. She traveled from different cities and provinces and so before her flight back she spent some time with us here in the city for two nights. My sister accompanied her on a local specialty shopping center that sells batik, a traditional kind of fabric. She bought dresses, shorts and blouses as presents when she will arrive back her home. The colors were pink, green, violet and printed for the womens’ dusters and dresses while for the men”s shorts were green, brown, blue and light yellow. She was happy because she got the items in cheap and bargain prices.  She hoped that her folks will be happy to receive  their gifts.

Digital picture taking

It was a good choice for my brother to bought a quality digital camera while he was working abroad years ago.  The Canon brand of digital cam was his personal souvenir and he made a good choice of it.  Last week we made a photo shot with my siblings as requested by my cousin for a special birthday celebration wherein we were requested to picture ourselves in form of a post greeting card. The quality of the shot is very clear especially the color of the subject.  The camera digitally adjusts to any kind of environment wherein it will blend the shot with the subject background with many options to check out on the camera. Though it was only my brother who took the shots using a tripod for the camera to zoom properly, The photo results were so nice and it looked like it was being shot by a professional photographer.  When I sent it on my cousin’s email she was amazed to saw it and curious to asked where it was taken.  Thank you for the advancement of photo technology that really helps in the quality of picture taking.

Enjoyment with computer games

One of my personal past time when I am at home is playing some computer games. It enables me to unwind from the stress of daily living. My brother installed on his computer the game of plants vs. zombies oroginally published by pop cap games. The game has many exciting levels and me as a player have to place different types of plants and fungi with their own unique offensive and defensive capabilities to stop a horde of zombies from eating the brains. I was thinking that the creator of this games is very genius as everyone got addicted in playing the games in their computers.  Every level is very challenging and I have to be alert to look at my options t be able to protect my plants and proceed to the next level.  Now I am still on the level 3-9 and when I have more time to play it hopefully I will be on the higher level already.

Once again Davao City will be celebrating  this week the Kadayawan 2011. It is said to be the king of festivals in the country. The main theme of the celebration is thanksgiving being the central reason of the festival. Bounties of Davao City will be showcase that include fruits, local products , flowers, heritage, culture, colors, music, entertainment and many more. There are many invited guests and stars that will join the celebration. Also artists who will perform some entertainment in many malls.  It is indeed a blessing for Davao City at its 26th years of celebrating Kadayawan festival that continues to bring the city on top of tourist destination. I have no plans yet on what will be my activities this coming weekend but all I hope for is an enjoyable and peaceful celebration. Madayaw Davao City!

Do you believe in ghosts?

I watched the weekend news at home and one of the lighter side report was about August being a ghost month. According to those Fung Shui experts they say that ghosts and bad spirits usually roamed around starting July thirty one until the end of the month of August. There are so many things to avoid they say during this month– transfer of home, doing or opening of  business, appointment or any transactions, wedding celebration, closing deals and many more activities. In short they say not to engaged in any contract or transactions because it will be unlucky as the bad spirits are everywhere. Well personally I do not believe in these myth.  True there are bad spirits who had been living on earth since the beginning of time.  But it is always our faith to God that should always prevail in our lives.
